The Challenge
What we were called in to solve
Recurring water ingress into the parking levels below a trafficked podium deck, with the previous membrane failing at movement joints and drain outlets.
Site Assessment
What we found on site
Site inspection covered substrate condition, drainage falls, joint detailing, and adhesion of the existing membrane. Failed laps and undersized drain outlets were identified as the primary entry points.
The Solution
What was specified and applied
A full torch-on bituminous membrane system was specified, with reinforced detailing at joints, upstands, and drain outlets, and a protection layer suited to vehicle loading.
Project Outcome
Where the structure stands now
The podium deck was returned to service with a continuous waterproofing system engineered for vehicular traffic, and drainage points were re-detailed to shed water efficiently.
